The Sting Python Thai Kick Pads are the heavy-duty pads in Sting's Python range, built for coaches and training partners who hold for kicks, knees and full-power combinations round after round. The striking face runs a Double Quad Core system - two stacked Quad Core layers over dense foam - so the energy of a round kick spreads across the pad instead of arriving in the holder's forearm.

The T3 outer skin handles constant shin contact without peeling, and Panama side panels reinforce the edges where pads normally split first. On the holder's side, a heavy-duty grip bar and two adjustable forearm straps on steel buckles keep the pad locked to the arm through fast pad-switching; the steel is the upgrade over plastic buckles that give out under repeated knees. Sold as a pair.

Thai pads or a kick shield?
Thai pads strap to each forearm so the holder can move, angle and feed combinations - kicks, knees, punches and elbows in the same round - and they're the standard for Muay Thai and kickboxing coaching. A kick shield is a single big pad held against the body for repeated power kicks and teeps. Coaches usually own both; if you're buying one, Thai pads.

How do I hold them?
Strap firm, grip the bar, keep the elbows in and meet the kick rather than letting it land - a pad that gives on impact is what bruises forearms. Angle the pad to the strike: vertical for hooks and round kicks, flat for straights, low and braced for knees.

Will they hurt my arms?
Far less than cheaper pads - that's what the Double Quad Core is for. Holding for heavy hitters is still work; new holders should build up over a few sessions.

How do I care for them?
Wipe the T3 outer with a damp cloth after use and leave the straps open to air dry. Keep them out of direct sun and hot cars, which break down the foam core.
