The Sting Armalite Focus Mitts are the durable, curved pad in Sting's coaching range. The SLV3 outer skin - the same tough synthetic used on the Armalite gloves - takes constant glove abrasion without cracking or peeling, and an SAS shock-absorption layer sits behind the striking face so heavy shots don't travel straight through to the holder's hand.

The pre-curved striking surface catches punches naturally, which makes the mitt easier to hold for anyone new to pad work and keeps hooks and uppercuts on target without the holder having to angle the pad as much. Behind it, a Quad Core mould gives a snug, supportive fit and an HD cup seats the hand in the correct position to reduce joint stress through long sessions. Sold as a pair.

Curved or flat - which focus mitt should I choose?
Curved pads like the Armalite cup the glove and catch punches naturally, so they're easier to hold - the better choice for beginners holding for beginners, PT sessions and classes. Flat mitts like the Armaplus give a cleaner target and let an experienced coach angle the pad themselves.

Are they padded enough for heavy hitters?
For everyday bag-weight punching, yes - the SAS layer and Quad Core are there for that. Still, hold the pad firm and meet the punch; a limp pad is what injures wrists, whatever the padding.

Are they suitable for kicks?
No. Focus mitts are for punches and elbow/knee touch work only. For kicks use a kick shield or Thai pads - see the Sting Python Thai Kick Pads.

How do I care for them?
Wipe the outer and the hand pocket with a damp cloth after use and leave them open to air dry. Keep them out of direct sun and hot cars - heat breaks down the foam core.
