A bench press without the bar. The Vortex Lay Down Chest Press puts you flat on an integrated bench under converging plate-loaded arms that follow the path of a barbell press - hands coming together as you push - with the load carried by the lever instead of your balance. Press to failure, rack nothing, and get up.

Multi-grip handles let you press neutral or pronated, the bench is positioned for strict form and comfort, and 200kg of 3mm commercial steel underneath keeps it planted no matter what's on the horns.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does it compare to a barbell bench press?
The pressing path is the same - flat, with the hands converging - but the lever carries the balance, so you can push to failure without a spotter and without a bar pinning you. It's the safest way to load a flat press heavy on a busy floor.

Do I need a spotter?
No - the lever arms stop safely at the end of the range, so members can press to failure on their own.

What plates does it take?
Standard Olympic plates - bumpers, rubber-coated or iron. Plates are sold separately.
