The Viper X is the glove Sting built for sparring and nothing else. The outer is full grain natural leather hide - the same grade Sting uses on its approved competition gloves - chosen to move with the hand through thousands of hours of rounds without cracking. Underneath, the Hi-Flow mould construction dissipates strike energy across the whole glove so your partner takes less of each shot and your hands take less of the return.

The lace-up closure is what separates this from the Velcro Viper X: laced properly, the extra-long cuff locks the wrist in a cast-like line from knuckle to forearm, which is why fighters in camp and coaches wrapping their fighters' hands prefer it. The anatomically designed square-shouldered mould sets the fist naturally, and Sting's Comfort 3D PowerX lining manages heat and moisture through long sparring sessions.

Who It Suits

Fighters preparing for bouts and anyone who spars hard and regularly enough to justify a dedicated lace glove - and who trains with a partner or coach to lace them. Glove Weight Guide

Glove weight is padding, not hand size - both weights use the same adult hand pattern. Full grain leather is firm out of the box and needs a few sessions to break in; try them on over hand wraps, as that's how you'll spar.

Frequently Asked Questions

Lace or Velcro - which Viper X should I get?
Lace gives the tighter, more uniform wrist lock and is the choice for fight camp and hard sparring - if you have someone to lace you. Velcro gets you in and out yourself in seconds and is the practical choice for regular gym sparring. Same leather, same mould, same core; the closure is the only difference.

Do I need someone to lace them?
Realistically, yes - you can't tie a proper lace glove one-handed. Most fighters have a coach or partner lace them; lace converters are available if you sometimes train alone.

Can I use them on the bag?
You can, but a sparring glove's padding is tuned to protect a partner, not to take heavy bag punishment every day. Keep the Viper X for sparring and use a training glove on the bag - it will last years longer.

How do I care for leather gloves?
Unlace and open them up to air dry after every session - never leave them tied in a bag. Wipe the leather with a damp cloth, use a glove deodoriser for the liner, and condition the leather occasionally. Keep them out of direct sun and hot cars.
