The Sting Orion is a leather glove built around the same competition-grade Hi-Flow Core that Sting uses in its approved competition range, in a hook-and-loop training format. The outer is premium select leather - carefully chosen and treated for durability - so it breaks in to your hand and holds its shape across years of bag, pad and sparring rounds rather than months.

The anatomically designed square-shouldered mould sets the fist in a natural, wrist-aligned position for maximum power on impact, while the Hi-Flow Core distributes the glove weight evenly and absorbs impact so your hands and your partner both finish the session in one piece. A moisture-managing performance liner keeps the inside cool, and a hook-and-loop wrist strap gives a secure, supportive closure without a second person to lace you up.

Fighters and regular gym members who have outgrown a synthetic training glove and want leather that lasts, with a core good enough for real sparring. Glove weight is padding, not hand size - all weights use the same adult hand pattern. Leather gloves are firm out of the box and take a few sessions to break in; try them on over hand wraps, as that's how you'll train.

Orion or Armaplus - what am I paying for?
Leather and the core. The Armaplus is a lightweight synthetic glove built for everyday training at a lower price; the Orion has a premium leather outer that outlasts synthetics by years and a competition-grade Hi-Flow Core with more impact absorption. If you train a few times a week and spar, the Orion is the better long-term buy.

Can I spar in these?
Yes - in 16oz the Orion is a proper sparring glove and is what the competition-grade core is for. For fighters who want maximum wrist support and the most padding for hard sparring, the Viper X is the step up.

Are they real leather?
Yes. Sting uses a premium select leather outer on the Orion, treated to increase durability. Expect them to feel tight for the first few sessions and then mould to your hand.

How do I care for leather gloves?
Pull the strap open and let them air dry after every session - never leave them zipped in a bag. Wipe the leather with a damp cloth, use a glove deodoriser for the liner, and condition the leather occasionally. Keep them out of direct sun and hot cars - heat dries and cracks leather.

Sting Sports products carry a 180-day manufacturing warranty from the date of invoice, covering the structural integrity of the product - major production faults and damage present before delivery - when used for its intended purpose with reasonable care. It doesn't cover normal wear and tear or cosmetic damage (including the expected impact wear on gloves and mitts), misuse, improper storage in moist conditions or direct sunlight, poor maintenance, or alterations.
