Our Premium Black Rubber Gym Flooring tile measures 1m x 1m and is a full 20mm thick, made from 100% SBR rubber with PU bonding. It is designed for excellent shock absorption and noise reduction, and the bevelled edges and smoother top finish give a more refined, more comfortable floor than a standard commercial tile.

The extra thickness is the reason to choose this tile. At 20mm it gives more cushioning under dropped dumbbells, deadlifts and heavy free-weight training than our 15mm tile, while its high density and resistance to heat, ozone and weather keep it performing in home gyms, garages and commercial training spaces.

Installation

1. Prepare the area — the subfloor must be clean, dry and level so the tiles sit flat.
2. Plan your layout — at 1m² per tile, measure your area in square metres and allow 5–10% extra for cuts.
3. Lay edge to edge — start in one corner and work outwards, butting each tile firmly against the next.
4. Cut to fit — trim around corners and obstacles with a sharp utility knife and straight edge, scoring in several passes through the 20mm thickness.
5. Secure edges (optional) — in high-traffic areas, adhesive or heavy-duty double-sided tape along the edges adds stability.

FAQs

How much does one tile cover?
Each tile is 1m x 1m and covers exactly 1m². A 20m² area needs 20 tiles, plus 5–10% for cuts.

Should I choose 15mm or 20mm?
15mm is the standard for most gym floors and machine areas. Choose 20mm where heavier free weights, dumbbells or deadlifts are the main use and you want the extra cushioning.

Is it suitable for barefoot training?
Yes. The Premium tile has a smoother top finish designed for barefoot use, such as yoga, stretching and mobility work.

Can I use either side?
Yes. Premium tiles are reversible and can be used on both sides.

Does the 20mm tile come in fleck colours?

Can I cut the tiles?
Yes. Score with a sharp utility knife and a straight edge, using several passes.

What warranty do they have?
Our rubber gym flooring carries a 2 year manufacturing warranty. Full terms are on our warranty page.

Fire Testing & Compliance

Our rubber gym flooring range has been independently fire tested by SGS to EN 13501-1:2018 (report AJFTS25007585R02_EN), achieving a reaction-to-fire classification of E_fl. The tested sample was a 15mm tile from the same rubber range.

The range has also been through SGS REACH SVHC testing (report TSNHG2303126701), with none of the 235 substances tested detected, and holds a voluntary CE Attestation of Conformity from EUTEST (ref TD64762501).
