ETA: November 14th

The Onyx Cobra HD is the heavy-duty member of our Cobra reflex family: a free standing speed ball built to take hard, fast rounds in commercial gyms and serious home setups. Where the standard Cobra runs a light inflatable ball on a slim post, the HD mounts a stitched leather speed ball on a thick steel pole with a heavy-gauge coil spring, a locking height collar and a bolted steel plate base, so it stays planted and snaps back the same way on the 500th punch as the first.

Strike the ball and the spring whips it straight back at you. Every punch is followed by a slip, a read and a counter, which is how the Cobra HD trains hand speed, timing, head movement and accuracy without the joint impact of heavy bag work. Set the ball anywhere from 150cm to 185cm with the locking collar, fill the base with water or sand, and it's ready for boxers, MMA fighters, fitness classes and anyone who wants a faster, sharper workout.

Who It Suits

• Boxing and MMA gyms that want a reflex station that survives daily class use
• Home gyms that have outgrown lighter inflatable reflex bags
• Fitness studios and PT spaces running speed, reaction and conditioning drills
• Fighters drilling slips, counters and timing between heavy bag rounds

Key Features

• Stitched leather speed ball with Onyx branding, built for a crisp, fast rebound
• Heavy-gauge steel coil spring for a strong, consistent return
• Thick steel pole with textured grip section below the ball
• Locking height collar: adjust from 150cm to 185cm with a twist of the hand knob
• Bolted steel plate base mount, not a push-fit, so the pole stays rigid under heavy use
• Heavy-duty moulded base fills with water or sand for stability
• Compact 58cm footprint suits home and commercial gyms
• Trains speed, reflexes, coordination, timing and head movement

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the Cobra HD different from the standard Onyx Cobra?
The standard Onyx Cobra uses a light inflatable ball on a slim post for maximum rebound speed at home. The HD uses a leather speed ball, a heavier spring, a thicker pole and a bolted plate base, so it takes harder hits and daily gym use. If you run classes or hit hard, choose the HD.

Will it suit my height?
Yes. Loosen the hand knob on the locking collar, slide the pole to anywhere between 150cm and 185cm and tighten it again. One unit covers shorter users through to tall adults.

Water or sand in the base?
Either. Sand is heavier and more stable for hard sessions; water is quicker to fill and drain if you move or store the unit.

How hard can I hit it?
Hit with speed and snap. The HD is built for sharper, harder strikes than a standard reflex bag, but it is a timing tool rather than a power bag. For full-power work, pair it with an Onyx free standing heavy bag.

What gloves should I use?
Bag mitts or quick wraps for speed rounds, or lighter boxing gloves when you want to drive into it. See our hand wraps and gloves.
