Thickness comes from rowing, and strict rowing comes from taking the lower back out of it. The Vortex Lateral Row braces your chest against a pad and runs the pull on independent plate-loaded arms - iso-lateral, so each side of the back moves its own load and a dominant side can't hide a weaker one.

Multi-grip handles give you neutral or pronated pulls to shift the work between lats, rhomboids and rear delts, premium pivot bearings keep the arc fluid under heavy plates, and a 155kg frame of 3mm commercial steel stays planted while you row.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does "iso-lateral" mean?
Each arm is independent - it loads and moves on its own. Row both together or one at a time; either way the stronger side can't do the weaker side's work.

Why chest supported?
With the chest on the pad the lower back and hips stop contributing, so the lats and mid back take the whole load and the row stays strict however heavy it gets.

What plates does it take?
Standard Olympic plates - bumpers, rubber-coated or iron. Plates are sold separately.

What pairs with it for back?
The Vortex Fixed Pulldown for the vertical pull - row for thickness, pull down for width, and the back is covered from every angle.

Can I choose my own colours?
