The Viper X is the glove Sting built for sparring and nothing else. The outer is full grain natural leather hide - the same grade Sting uses on its approved competition gloves - chosen to move with the hand through thousands of hours of rounds without cracking. Underneath, the Hi-Flow mould construction dissipates strike energy across the whole glove so your partner takes less of each shot and your hands take less of the return.

The Velcro version keeps everything that makes the Viper X a sparring glove - the extra-long wrist cuff, the anatomically designed square-shouldered mould, the Comfort 3D PowerX lining - and swaps the laces for a wide hook-and-loop closure you can pull tight one-handed. In and out between rounds, no partner needed, and enough cuff length that the wrist still sits locked and straight under a punch.

Glove Weight Guide

Glove weight is padding, not hand size - both weights use the same adult hand pattern. Full grain leather is firm out of the box and needs a few sessions to break in; try them on over hand wraps, as that's how you'll spar.

Frequently Asked Questions

Velcro or lace - which Viper X should I get?
Velcro gets you in and out yourself in seconds and is the practical choice for regular gym sparring. Lace gives a tighter, more uniform wrist lock for fight camp - if you have someone to lace you. Same leather, same mould, same core; the closure is the only difference.

Is the wrist support really enough for hard sparring?
Yes - the extra-long cuff is the same length as the lace version, so with the strap pulled firm the wrist sits straight and supported. It's the reason Sting builds the cuff long rather than relying on the strap alone.

Can I use them on the bag?
You can, but a sparring glove's padding is tuned to protect a partner, not to take heavy bag punishment every day. Keep the Viper X for sparring and use a training glove on the bag - it will last years longer.

How do I care for leather gloves?
Pull the strap open and let them air dry after every session - never leave them closed in a bag. Wipe the leather with a damp cloth, use a glove deodoriser for the liner, and condition the leather occasionally. Keep white leather out of direct sun and hot cars, and wipe scuffs promptly before they set.

Sting Sports products carry a 180-day manufacturing warranty from the date of invoice, covering the structural integrity of the product - major production faults and damage present before delivery - when used for its intended purpose with reasonable care.
