The vertical pull that builds the lats, on a lever that keeps the tension on them from the top stretch to the bottom squeeze. The Vortex Pull Down runs a guided pulldown path that mirrors a true vertical pull, with a secure knee hold that locks you in the seat so heavy plates stay controlled instead of lifting you out of it.
Wide and neutral grips vary the emphasis between lats and upper back, precision pivot bearings keep the pull fluid, and a 210kg frame of 3mm commercial steel - two metres tall - stays rooted under the heaviest sets a back day can throw at it.

Pull Down or Fixed Pulldown - which one?
Both are plate-loaded vertical pulls. The Fixed Pulldown runs independent arms for single-arm work; the Pull Down runs a single guided arc with wide and neutral grips and a knee hold built for very heavy bilateral sets. Big floors often run both.
Why the knee hold?
Past a certain load a pulldown lifts you off the seat. The knee pads lock the lower body down so the lats, not your bodyweight, are the limit.
What plates does it take?
Standard Olympic plates - bumpers, rubber-coated or iron. Plates are sold separately.
What pairs with it for back?
The Vortex Low Row - vertical pull here, horizontal pull there, and the back is covered from every angle.
