The Vortex Lateral Rowing machine braces the chest and runs the pull on iso-lateral arms with a converging path, so the hands finish close and the lats and rhomboids get a strong peak contraction - each side moving its own load, so imbalances get trained out rather than hidden.

Neutral and pronated grips shift the emphasis across the back, precision pivot bearings keep the arc fluid under heavy plates, and a 185.5kg frame of 3mm commercial steel stays planted while you row.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the converging path change?
A straight-line row keeps the hands the same distance apart the whole way. A converging arc brings them in toward the body at the finish, which matches how the lats and rhomboids shorten - so the contraction at the end of each rep is harder.

Why iso-lateral?
Each arm loads and moves independently. Row both together or one at a time; either way the stronger side can't do the weaker side's work.

What plates does it take?
Standard Olympic plates - bumpers, rubber-coated or iron. Plates are sold separately.

What pairs with it for back?
The Vortex Fixed Pulldown for the vertical pull - row for thickness, pull down for width.
