A preacher-style curl with the cheating taken out of it. The Vortex Biceps Curl locks the upper arms against an angled pad so the biceps do all the work - no hip drive, no shoulder swing - and the plate-loaded arm keeps tension on the muscle through the full curl, including the top where a free bar goes slack.

Rotating handles follow your natural wrist and elbow alignment under load, and the independent arms let you train both sides together or one at a time. It's a serious piece: 180kg of 3mm commercial steel that doesn't move, however hard you curl.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this better than a barbell or dumbbell curl?
The pad removes the swing and the lever keeps resistance on the biceps through the whole range, including the top of the curl where free weights lose tension. You get a harder contraction with less load through the lower back and shoulders.

What do the rotating handles do?
They let your wrist turn naturally as the elbow bends, instead of locking it in one position. That keeps the stress on the biceps rather than the wrist and elbow joints.

Can I curl one arm at a time?
Yes - the arms are independent, so single-arm sets are built in.

What plates does it take?
Standard Olympic plates - bumpers, rubber-coated or iron. Plates are sold separately.

What pairs with it for arms?
