Incline Angled Level Prone Row

Plate Loaded | Dual Neutral & Angled Grips | Commercial Steel Frame

The Incline Angled Level Prone Row lets you row heavy without holding a hinged position under load. Your chest and torso rest on an angled support pad, so every bit of effort goes into pulling rather than into holding yourself up — which is exactly why chest-supported rows are a fixture on commercial gym floors.

Lever arms run on a smooth pivot, and the dual grips let you switch between a neutral close pull for the mid-back and a wider angled pull for the lats and rear delts.

Chest-Supported Rowing Mechanics

  • High-density incline pad supports the torso through the full pull
  • Removes the bracing demand a bent-over barbell row puts on the lower back
  • Strict rowing path — harder to cheat the movement with body english
  • Smooth lever action on a fixed pivot for a consistent arc rep after rep

Dual Grip Handles

  • Neutral (close) grip — loads the mid-back, rhomboids and traps
  • Angled (wide) grip — shifts the pull toward the lats and rear delts
  • Two back exercises from one station without changing attachments

Built for the Gym Floor

  • Commercial-grade welded steel frame with a powder-coated finish
  • Oversized textured footplate for a locked-in stance under heavy load
  • Standard 50mm Olympic sleeves — loads with the plates you already own
  • Compact 1.8m × 1.0m footprint for a machine of this capability
  • At 60kg it is one of the lighter commercial back stations to place and reposition

Frequently Asked Questions

What muscles does the Incline Angled Level Prone Row work?
Mainly the upper and mid-back — lats, rhomboids, mid-traps and rear delts, with the biceps assisting. The neutral grip biases the mid-back; the angled grip pulls wider and brings in more lat and rear delt.

How is this different from a bent-over barbell row?
Your torso is supported on the chest pad, so you are not holding a hinged position while you pull. That removes the lower-back bracing demand and keeps the rowing path strict, which is why chest-supported rows are usually programmed when the goal is back work rather than whole-body tension.

How does it compare to the Standing Incline T-Bar Row?
Different jobs. This machine is prone — you lie forward against the pad, and it is the lighter, more compact of the two at 60kg. The Standing Incline T-Bar Row is a 110kg standing station with a heavier frame and a more upright pulling angle. Facilities with the floor space often run both.

What plates does it take?
Standard 50mm Olympic plates — the same ones your bars use. Our rubber-coated tri-grip plates are the usual pairing for machine loading — the handles make them easier to lift on and off than flat bumpers.

How much floor space do I need?
The machine itself is 1800mm long by 1000mm wide. Allow clearance behind it for loading plates and for the user to step on and off the footplate.

Does it need to be bolted down?
No. It is a free-standing station — the weight of the frame plus loaded plates keeps it planted.
