The Sting Armalite is built around durability. Where the Armaplus uses a light T3 skin for speed and breathability, the Armalite runs Sting's SLV3 outer - a tougher synthetic shell engineered to hold up to heavy bag rounds session after session - backed by an SAS shock-absorption layer between the outer and the core. If your gloves die on the bag before they die anywhere else, this is the Sting glove for you.

Inside, the Hi-Flow Core distributes the glove weight evenly and absorbs impact, a round-shouldered construction adds knuckle and back-of-hand protection, and Sting's Comfortline 3D heat and moisture management liner keeps the hand cool and dry. A 3-inch hook-and-loop wrist strap gives a secure, adjustable fit you can manage one-handed.

Glove weight is padding, not hand size - both weights use the same adult hand pattern. Sting's body-weight guide is a starting point; if your gym mandates 16oz for sparring, that overrides it. Try them on over hand wraps, as that's how you'll train.

Armalite or Armaplus - which should I buy?
Durability versus weight. The Armalite's SLV3 shell and SAS layer make it the tougher, more padded glove for heavy bag work and frequent training; the Armaplus is lighter and cooler and suits speed work and classes. If you hit the bag hard three or more times a week, Armalite.

Can I spar in these?
Light-to-moderate sparring in 16oz, yes. For regular hard sparring a dedicated sparring glove with more padding and wrist support - the Viper X - is the better tool and kinder to your partner.

Are they leather?
No. SLV3 is a synthetic outer that Sting engineers for durability - it resists cracking and peeling on the bag better than most leather at this price. Sting's leather gloves are the Armapro and Orion.

How do I care for them?
Pull the strap open and let them air dry after every session - never leave them zipped in a bag. Wipe the outer with a damp cloth and use a glove deodoriser for the liner. Keep them out of direct sun and hot cars.
