The Sting Speedplus is Sting's all-rounder skipping rope: a heavy-duty 9ft rope on closed-bearing handles, with a screw-adjust length so one rope fits everyone in the household or class. The bearings are what separate it from a basic rope - the rope turns freely under the handle instead of twisting on itself, so the rotation stays smooth and you can hold a rhythm through double-unders, crossovers and long conditioning rounds.

Stand on the middle of the rope with one foot and pull the handles up beside you. For general fitness the handle tops should reach about shoulder height; for speed work, armpit height. Loosen the screw on each handle, feed the rope through to that length and tighten it back down. Because the excess stays inside the handle, you can lengthen it again later - handy for a shared rope.
Is this a good first skipping rope?
Yes - it's the one we'd suggest before a cable speed rope. It turns smoothly on the bearings but has enough rope weight to feel where it is in the air, which is what you need while you're learning timing.
Speedplus or Viper Cross Train?
Speedplus is the all-rounder: adjustable without cutting, easier to learn on, cheaper. The Viper Cross Train is a cable speed rope - faster and more consistent for double-unders and boxing rounds, but less forgiving when you miss.
Can I use it outdoors?
Yes, on smooth surfaces. Concrete and asphalt wear through any rope quickly - rubber flooring, timber or a mat will make it last much longer.
How do I look after it?
Wipe the handles dry after sweaty sessions, store it loosely coiled rather than tightly wound, and keep it off rough surfaces.
Sting Sports products carry a 180-day manufacturing warranty from the date of invoice, covering the structural integrity of the product - major production faults and damage present before delivery - when used for its intended purpose with reasonable care. It doesn't cover normal wear and tear or cosmetic damage, including rope wear or fraying from use on abrasive surfaces, misuse, improper storage in moist conditions or direct sunlight, poor maintenance, or alterations.
