Chin-ups and dips are the two best upper-body movements there are, and most members can't do enough of them to make progress. The Vortex Assist Dip/Chin fixes that with a plate-loaded counterweight: load the horns to set how much of your bodyweight the kneeling pad carries, then work the assistance down over the weeks until you're pulling and pressing on your own.

A multi-grip chin bar (wide, neutral and close) and parallel dip handles cover the back, chest and arms, the assist pad folds clear for bodyweight or weighted sets, and a 210kg frame of 3mm commercial steel - 2.35m tall - stays rooted under all of it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does plate-loaded assistance work?
The plates on the horns counterbalance the kneeling pad. The more weight you load, the more of your bodyweight the pad lifts - so a member who can't yet do a chin-up starts with heavy assistance and removes plates as they get stronger.

Can I use it unassisted or weighted?
Yes - the assist pad folds out of the way, so stronger athletes can do bodyweight or belt-weighted chins and dips on the same station.

What plates does it take?
Standard Olympic plates - bumpers, rubber-coated or iron. Plates are sold separately.

What pairs with it?
The Vortex Fixed Pulldown for heavier, guided vertical pulling once chins are no longer the limit.

Can I choose my own colours?
