At roughly 2kg this 1.4m bar loads quickly with standard plates, and the black foam centre grip keeps it comfortable through long sets — no torn hands, no chalk required.

Rated to a 120kg maximum load with 21cm sleeves each side and collars included, it is the bar every studio rack carries a dozen of — and the one home lifters buy for pump work, rehab and beginners in the family.

Which Diameter — and Which Plates Fit?

Match the bar to the bore of your plates: the 28mm bar suits standard plates with a 28mm (or larger) centre hole, and the 30mm bar suits standard plates bored 30–31mm. Olympic plates do not fit — their 50mm bore is made for an Olympic barbell. If you are buying plates and bar together, just pick matching diameters and you cannot go wrong.

What is a pump bar actually for?
High-rep, lighter-load training — pump classes, curls, overhead press, lunges, rehab work and teaching beginners the patterns before they move to a 20kg Olympic bar.

Will my Olympic plates fit?
No — Olympic plates have a 50mm hole and will flop loose on this bar. This bar takes standard plates matching its diameter. For 50mm plates, you want an Olympic bar.

What is the grip like?
A black foam pad runs along the 96cm centre section — buyers consistently call out how comfortable it is over long sets, and it will not chew your hands the way knurling can at high reps.

Which pre-order terms apply?
Only the 28mm is on pre-order (ETA September 2026 — an estimate that may shift). If the date moves materially we will contact you with the option to switch to an in-stock item or take a full refund. The 30mm ships now.
