Instead of stacked foam sheets, the RS80V uses a low-density, high-resistance moulded foam block that spreads impact across the whole striking surface. Which Size Should I Choose?

For sparring, most gyms set a minimum glove weight to protect both fighters. As a general guide, 16oz suits fighters over 75kg and is the standard sparring weight in most Australian gyms; 14oz suits 60-75kg; 12oz suits lighter athletes and juniors, or pad and bag sessions where you want a faster glove. If your coach or gym has a rule, follow it - when in doubt, go heavier for sparring.

This product is covered by a 3-month warranty against manufacturing defects - it does not cover wear and tear from normal training use, including impact wear on the striking surface. How does the RS80V compare to the RS11V Evolution?
Both are microfibre sparring gloves with Rival's angled cuff and strap systems. The RS11V uses thicker layered foam and the dual-angle V-Strap and sits at the top of the range; the RS80V uses a single moulded foam block and a single angled strap, giving a lighter, more direct feel at a lower price. For most club boxers the RS80V is more than enough glove.

Are these gloves suitable for beginners?
Yes - the Impulse is one of Rival's most versatile gloves. The moulded padding is forgiving for your sparring partner, the fit works straight out of the box, and it holds up well as you progress.

How do I look after them?
Wipe the outside down after training, open the strap and let them air dry fully - never in direct sun or a hot car. The mesh palm speeds drying, and wearing hand wraps every session keeps the lining fresh.
