Premium Solid Blue Rubber Gym Flooring 1m | 15mm

Solid Blue Through the Full Tile | 15mm | Fire Tested - Efl (SGS) | REACH Screened

This is the solid colour tile - blue through the entire thickness, not black rubber with a blue fleck. If you want a floor that reads as one clean colour from across the room, or you're colour-coding zones, this is the one.

Underneath the colour it's the same heavy-duty build as the rest of the Premium range: 1m x 1m x 15mm, 13.5kg of compressed rubber granule locked together with a polyurethane binder, a bevelled edge and a non-slip surface. One tile covers one square metre.

Which Blue Do You Want?

We stock four blue 15mm tiles, and the difference is worth knowing before you buy.

  • Commercial Blue Fleck - black rubber with a blue fleck, our entry-level tile for budget fit-outs and big areas
  • Premium Blue Fleck - black rubber with a blue fleck, heavier and denser than the Commercial tile
  • EPDM Blue Fleck - black rubber with a blue EPDM fleck, colour-stable and fire tested for commercial compliance
  • Premium Solid Blue (this tile) - blue all the way through, no black base, for a uniform colour floor

Fleck tiles are the everyday choice and cost less. Solid colour costs more because the whole tile is coloured granule rather than a black base with colour mixed through the top.

Key Features

  • Solid blue colour through the full 15mm - uniform colour across the whole floor
  • 13.5kg per tile - heavy, dense rubber that lays flat and stays put
  • PU-bound and bottom sealed - granules won't flake or shed from the tile
  • Independently certified - EN 13501-1 fire classification, EN 14041 and EN 14904 compliance, REACH SVHC screened
  • Non-slip surface - slip resistance assessed under EN 14041
  • Bevelled edge for tight joins and a finished look
  • Double-sided - flip the tile to extend its life
  • Waterproof, non-toxic and non-static - no chemical smell
  • Holds its shape under racks, benches and machines - will not bend or deform
  • Suitable for indoor and outdoor use

How Many Tiles Do I Need?

One tile covers one square metre, so your tile count is your floor area in square metres, plus 5-10% for cuts around walls, columns and equipment.

  • Single garage (approx. 3m x 6m = 18m²) - 19-20 tiles
  • Double garage (approx. 6m x 6m = 36m²) - 38-40 tiles
  • Studio or PT space (approx. 8m x 6m = 48m²) - 50-53 tiles
  • Free-weight floor (approx. 10m x 6m = 60m²) - 63-66 tiles

Independently Tested & Certified

Our rubber flooring is independently tested and certified to European standards. Certificates are available on request for fit-out, tender and compliance documentation.

Certification Standard / Issuer Result
Reaction to Fire EN 13501-1:2018 - SGS Efl - limited flame spread, low ignitability
Floor Covering Essentials EN 14041:2018 - OCT Technology Testing Compliant
Indoor Multi-Sports Surfaces EN 14904:2006 - OCT Technology Testing Compliant
REACH SVHC Screening EC 1907/2006, 235 substances - SGS Pass - none detected
CE Attestation of Conformity EUTEST, ref TD64762501 Issued, valid to December 2030

The EN 14041 and EN 14904 assessment covers slip resistance, water-tightness, shock absorption, wear resistance, rolling load resistance, electrical behaviour and content of dangerous substances - the characteristics a certifier, architect or facility manager will ask about on a commercial floor.

Why REACH matters: if you're fitting out a school, childcare centre, council facility or healthcare space, the SGS screening tested this rubber against 235 Substances of Very High Concern on the European Chemicals Agency candidate list and detected none above the reporting limit. A lot of cheap imported rubber flooring has never been screened at all.

Installation Tips

  1. Prepare the area: the subfloor should be clean, dry, level and free of dust or debris
  2. Lay from a corner: butt each tile tightly against the last - the bevelled edges close up into a neat join
  3. Cut to size: trim edges and cut-outs with a sharp utility knife and a straight edge, scoring several passes rather than forcing one
  4. Secure if required: at 13.5kg a tile, loose lay is stable in most home and studio floors; use adhesive or double-sided flooring tape in commercial spaces and anywhere equipment is dragged
  5. Flip when worn: the tile is double-sided - turn it over to get a second life from a high-traffic spot

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Is this a solid blue tile or a blue fleck?
Solid. The blue runs through the full 15mm - there's no black base. If you want the black-with-blue-fleck look, that's the Premium Blue Fleck.

Why does solid colour cost more than fleck?
A fleck tile is mostly black rubber with colour mixed through the top. A solid tile is coloured granule all the way through, which costs more to make. The size, thickness, weight and build are otherwise the same.

Is 15mm thick enough for weight training?
Yes for free weights, dumbbells, benches, racks and functional training. For dropping loaded Olympic bars from height, put 30mm EPDM tiles in the platform area and run this tile across the rest.

Can you provide compliance documentation for a tender or commercial fit-out?
Yes. We can supply the SGS fire classification report (EN 13501-1, Efl), the EN 14041 and EN 14904 technical construction file, the SGS REACH SVHC screening report and the CE Attestation of Conformity. Contact us and we'll send the documents through.

How many tiles do I need?
One tile is one square metre. Measure your floor in square metres and add 5-10% for cuts.

Do I need to glue it down?
Not usually. At 13.5kg each the tiles sit flat and stay put in most home and studio setups. Adhesive-fix in commercial spaces or wherever equipment gets dragged across the floor.

Can I use it outdoors?
Yes. The rubber compound handles heat, weather and ozone, so it works in outdoor and undercover training areas as well as indoors.

Does it smell?
It's a non-toxic rubber with no chemical smell. Like any new rubber floor, give the room some airflow for the first day or two.

Can I mix it with other colours?
Yes - it's the same 1m x 1m x 15mm format as the rest of the Premium 15mm range, so you can lay solid blue zones inside a black or fleck floor for colour-coded areas. See the Solid Green for a second zone colour.

Do you sell it in bulk packs?
Yes - contact us with your tile count for pack pricing and a pallet freight rate.
