Experienced lifters hit plateaus training solely with a straight bar. The Reload Olympic Safety Squat Bar shifts the load onto a padded yoke with forward grip handles, letting you squat heavy without wrenching your shoulders into a straight-bar rack position — and hammering the anterior chain harder in the process.

Unique Weight Distribution

The camber places the load between a front squat and a back squat, varying your power output training. It's the safer option for intense squat progressions and maximum-load lifts, and most lifters find their working weight climbs compared to a traditional back squat.

The safety squat bar puts less stress on the L5 vertebrae — a genuine benefit for anyone managing lower back niggles — and encourages an upright torso throughout the lift. Why a safety squat bar instead of a straight bar?
The padded yoke and forward handles remove the shoulder mobility demand of a back squat — if racking a straight bar hurts your shoulders, elbows or wrists, an SSB lets you keep squatting heavy. The camber also drives a more upright torso, shifting work onto the quads and upper back.

What plates does it take?
Standard 50mm Olympic plates — bumpers or tri grips — with 280mm of usable sleeve per side. It racks on any standard power rack or squat stand J-hooks.

Is the padding removable?
Yes — the closed-cell rubber pads detach for cleaning or replacement, and the grip handles are removable too.

What else can I do with it besides squats?
Walking lunges, split squats, good mornings, Zercher-style carries and calf raises — the hands-free load position makes it one of the most versatile specialty bars in the rack.
