Is it really unbreakable?
Polypropylene is a rigid, non-brittle polymer — under normal training use it won't crack, chip or splinter the way timber and cheaper plastics do. Virtually indestructible in the dojo, though like anything it's not warranted against deliberate abuse.

How does PP compare to a wooden tanto?
Similar rigidity for blocking and technique work, but far more durable on contact and consistent in all weather — timber can crack on a hard block; PP just flexes and recovers.

Is it safe for partner work?
It's a rigid trainer, so it's safer than steel or hardwood — but it still carries impact. Use control, protective equipment where appropriate, and always train under qualified instruction.

What's the difference between a tanto and a katana trainer?
Length. The tanto is the short blade — 71cm here — suited to close-quarters technique, while katana trainers run around 100cm+. We stock both.
