Octagonal Sai – Chrome

Polished Chrome Steel | Sold as a Pair | 19" & 21.5" Sizes

The Octagonal Sai is one of the most recognisable of the traditional Okinawan weapons — and one of the most demanding to master. Whether you're pursuing sai kata under instruction or want an impeccably finished pair for display, this chrome sai set is an exceptional selection.

Cast from a single steel mould and finished in polished chrome, each sai carries the weight and balance the weapon is known for. The octagonal monouchi (shaft) is the traditional profile, and the handle is wrapped in supple leather grip tape for a secure, comfortable hold through spins and transitions.

Key Features

  • Traditional octagonal monouchi — the classic Okinawan sai profile
  • Single-mould steel construction — solid, balanced, built to last
  • Polished chrome finish — display-grade presentation
  • Leather-wrapped grip — secure hold for spins and retention work

FAQs

Is the price for one sai or a pair?
A pair — sai are traditionally trained two-handed, so every order includes two matched sai in your chosen size.

Which size should I choose?
Traditional sizing is by forearm: gripped correctly, the monouchi should extend a few centimetres past your elbow. Practitioners with longer forearms or those wanting extra blocking coverage go 21.5"; the 19" suits smaller frames and faster handling.

Is this a training-safe replica?
No — these are genuine steel weapons with real weight, for kata, forms and demonstrations under qualified instruction only. They are not foam or plastic trainers and must never be used for partner contact. Adults 18+ only.

How do I care for the chrome finish?
Wipe down after handling to remove moisture and fingerprints, and store dry — chrome over steel keeps its mirror polish for years with basic care.

The Octagonal Sai from Fitness Hero is renowned for its recognition as a traditional Okinawan weapon.
