The Basic Fit Sports Mouthguard is a simple, low-cost boil-and-bite guard for athletes at any level. It's a practical choice for clubs, schools and gyms that need spare guards on hand, and for anyone who wants a straightforward guard for training and sparring.

You heat it in hot water and bite into it so the shock-absorbing material takes the shape of your teeth. A narrow occlusal (bite) channel helps it sit firmly in place, so you can breathe and talk between rounds without it shifting. It comes in Junior and Adult sizes, in clear or black.

How do I fit a boil-and-bite mouthguard?
Read the instructions in the pack first, as heating times vary between guards. As a general guide: bring water to the boil and take it off the heat, dip the guard in for the time stated, lift it out and let the excess water drain for a few seconds. Place it over your top teeth, bite down firmly and press it against your teeth and gums with your tongue and fingers while sucking out air and water. Hold for the time stated, then set it in cold water. Never boil the guard on the stove or put it in your mouth straight from the water.

Should I choose Junior or Adult?
Junior is the smaller guard for children and younger teens with smaller mouths. Adult suits older teens and adults. If the guard extends past your back teeth or makes you gag, the smaller size is usually the better fit.

How do I keep it clean?
Rinse it in cool water after every session, let it air-dry and store it in a ventilated case. Keep it out of hot water, direct sun and hot cars, which can distort the fit. Our Clear Mouthguard Case has vent holes so the guard can dry between sessions.

Can I use it with braces?
If you wear braces or have other dental work, check with your dentist or orthodontist before fitting any off-the-shelf mouthguard.
