ABS Wakizashi Training Sword – Wide

ABS Wakizashi Training Sword – Wide

Wide-Blade Profile | Silver-Look Plated ABS | 67.5cm | 425g

The Wide ABS Wakizashi is the broader-bladed version of our plated short sword — a compact practice sword for martial arts forms, technical drills and demonstrations, with extra blade presence that reads powerfully on stage and display.

Moulded from ABS plastic with a silver-look plated finish, the wider profile carries a more substantial 425g weight for realistic handling through stance work, transitions and paired forms. At 67.5cm it suits close-range technique and matches our katana-length trainers for two-sword (daisho) work.

FAQs

Is the blade actually metal?
No — the blade is ABS plastic finished with a metallic silver-look plating. It presents like steel on stage and display, but it's a lightweight, unsharpened plastic trainer.

Wide or standard — which ABS wakizashi should I choose?
Same 67.5cm length and plated finish on both. The standard blade is slimmer and lighter at 395g — quicker in the hand for fast technical work. This wide version carries 425g with a broader blade that looks more imposing in demonstrations and photographs. Pick by feel and presence.

Does the plating wear off?
The plated finish is durable under normal forms, demonstration and display use. Like any plated surface it will mark under repeated hard impacts — for heavy blade-contact drilling, choose our matte-black PPA wakizashi and keep this one presentable.

Is it suitable for partner work?
It's built for forms, choreography and controlled drills under qualified instruction — not for contact sparring or blade-on-blade impact work. Use control and appropriate protective equipment.
