The 106cm Katana Bokken is the extended-length katana trainer of the PP range — a virtually unbreakable polypropylene blade that mirrors a katana's feel and balance with extra reach for taller practitioners and longer-form styles. Ideal for kata, grip work and controlled partner drills, it offers strength without splintering or breaking.

The reinforced, textured handle gives a traditional two-handed grip, the included tsuba adds hand protection and authenticity, and at 530g it stays quick in the hands — solid feedback without fatigue over long drilling sessions.

FAQs

106cm or 100cm — which katana bokken should I choose?
Both are katana-profile trainers. The 100cm is the standard length most schools train with; this 106cm gives taller practitioners extra reach while staying slightly lighter in the hand at 530g. If you want maximum length and heft, step up to the 112cm Tachi at 700g.

Is it really unbreakable?
Polypropylene is a rigid, non-brittle polymer — under normal training use it won't crack, chip or splinter the way timber can. Virtually indestructible in the dojo, though not warranted against deliberate abuse.

PP or wooden bokken — which should I buy?
PP outlasts timber many times over, handles outdoor and wet conditions, and won't splinter on a hard block. Traditional red or white oak has the classic feel and is preferred by some schools — we stock both, so check what your instructor trains with.

Is it suitable for partner work?
It's built for kata and controlled partner drills under qualified instruction. It's a rigid trainer that carries real impact, so it's not intended for contact sparring — use control and appropriate protective equipment.
